Mike Nicholson

Mike has worked in advertising and market research for over thirty years.
Mike began his career in quantitative research with Millward Brown in Leamington Spa before moving to London and pivoting to qualitative research in the early 1990s. He then spent several years working for UK qualitative agencies before moving to run the qualitative research division of AC Neilsen Thailand in Bangkok.

Returning to the UK in the late 90s Mike moved into advertising and has held several senior and board positions in agencies including Bates Dorland, VCCP and TBWA. Clients have included some of the UK’s and the world’s biggest advertisers including The Halifax, HSBC, Heinz, Coke and Unilever. He is the former head of strategy for Ogilvy Action UK.

In 20013 Mike set up his own brand strategy and research consultancy. He now works extensively with a broad range of brand owners and creative agencies in the UK and overseas, especially in the financial services and luxury spaces, developing brand strategies and creative campaigns and conducting primary research.

Mike is originally from the North East and now lives in Islington.
